Government Schemes & Subsidies

India is incentivising every kilowatt of rooftop solar. Here is the money on the table — and we will help you claim it.

1. PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (Central Govt. — flagship scheme)

Launched 13 Feb 2024 by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, this is the largest residential rooftop solar scheme in India, targeting 1 crore households by March 2027. Beneficiaries get up to 300 units of free electricity every month.

How we help: we register you on pmsuryaghar.gov.in, file the application with your DISCOM, install a vendor-approved system, complete the inspection, and ensure the subsidy is credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to your bank account.

2. Andhra Pradesh — Solar Subsidy & Net Metering

• Residents eligible for up to ₹18,000 / kW additional state-level support on residential rooftops.
• 100% subsidy for SC/ST beneficiaries; up to 40% for other eligible social categories.
• Net-metering through APEPDCL & APSPDCL — sell surplus units back to the grid for bill credit.
• Maximum net-metering capacity: 1 MWp per consumer.

3. Telangana — Domestic Sector Subsidy

• 40% of benchmark cost for systems from 1 kW to 3 kW.
• 20% additional subsidy for systems above 3 kW up to 10 kW.
• 3 kW on-grid systems eligible for the central ₹78,000 support combined with state benefits.
• Net-metering through TGSPDCL/TGNPDCL with no cross-subsidy or wheeling charges for residential users.

4. PM-KUSUM (for Farmers)

• Component A: grid-connected solar plants (500 kW – 2 MW) on barren / fallow land.
• Component B: stand-alone solar pumps (1 HP – 10 HP) — up to 60% central + state subsidy, farmer pays only ~40%.
• Component C: solarisation of existing grid-connected agricultural pumps.

5. C&I Tax Benefits

• Accelerated Depreciation of 40% in Year 1 for businesses installing rooftop solar.
• GST input credit on equipment for registered businesses.
• Eligible for Group Captive & Open Access arrangements for large industrial users.
